Unique Accommodation

Set in the stunning hills of Dungog Shire, Carriageway offers visitors a  unique hospitality experience. Among our accommodation offers are our restored ‘Red Rattler’ train carriages that provide accommodation for families, couples or friends alike, and  offer the opportunity for adventure or relaxation in the district.

CABINS & COTTAGE

For a more romantic getaway we offer a number of traditional country style apartments. We also have a beautiful two bedroom cottage with stunning views of the Dungog countryside, which lends itself to a very comfortable stay for families or two couples.

RELAX

By the pool or with your favourite book. The rural setting allows for an easy escape from the day-to-day humdrum of everyday life.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Carriageway is a great base for a family holiday. From mountain biking and swimming to bush walking, the great outdoors is right at your doorstep. Dungog Shire is the southern gateway to world heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park home to some of the most unique ecosystems in the world.

The Carriageway exceeded my expectations in every way. The carriages are beautifully appointed, clean and well equipped. There was plenty of space in the super wide and long carriage and the master bedroom had a queen sized bed and my daughter stayed in a separate private room with twin beds. The grounds are well maintained and the country side around the complex is stunning. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Well done to the new managers for making this place somewhere special to come to.

What a fabulous weekend escape "The Carriageway" was! Peaceful, rural surroundings, beautiful scenery, the most amazing sunrise and fabulous outdoor fire by the night which was well stocked with timber and chairs, inviting us to come sit by the fire.

The decor was warm and cozy which well suited the train carriage. Bed super comfy and the linen was Divine. We ordered the home made pizzas for dinner! WOW! They were amazing and so big! Definitely a must have! I felt like a child on an adventure, wanting to explore my new found environment, to see what I could discover and find. Definitely a fabulous find! Highly recommend this quirky little stay!

Breakfast could be purchased if required, spacious accommodation and very warm bed. Great place to replenish the soul. The pizza purchased from proprietors was very good.

We stayed in one of the carriages.  It was very nicely decorated. The double bed was comfy, each room had AC, so it was effortless to keep warm. They provided so many complimentary goodies that made the kids very happy. The location is very excellent and feels secluded.

My partner and I were celebrating our third anniversary. Such a lovely place to rest and get away from the routine.
