With so much to do on the property and surrounding areas, your biggest challenge will be deciding what to do next. Do it all or do very little, the choice is yours.

Swimming Pool

Our 12 metre in-ground pool is the perfect way to cool off and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the rural setting. Of course, it is fully-fenced to prevent children accessing the pool area unsupervised.

Picnics

Take your own picnic or ask our chef to tailor something special for effortless enjoyment, and head off to a quiet spot under a tree or on the banks of the Williams River.

Scenic Drives

From the famous rivers and wineries of the Hunter Valley to the World Heritage area of Barrington Tops and the wilderness areas, a drive in any direction becomes a beautiful journey in itself.

Historic Dungog

Just 7 kilometres north is the historic town of Dungog where you can step back in time to quaint antique shops, a local museum, cafes and good old fashioned friendly service. There’s even an old style movie theatre and original heritage buildings down the main street.

Bird Watching

With 70 varieties of Australian native birds, not to mentioned other native wildlife, the passionate birdwatcher or casual observer can’t help but be impressed by the natural beauty of the surrounds.

Train Spotting

With the main line running through a far corner of our property, train spotting is very popular, especially amongst the children. We even have our own timber bridge for those wanting a closer experience.

Fishing

With the picturesque Williams River flowing right through the Carriageway property, why not pack a picnic and head out for a spot of fishing – there’s no more relaxing way to spend a summer afternoon.

Petting zoo now open

Our new petting zoo has just been established with cute calves, lambs and goats to make a fuss of. We are still finding names for these new members of Carriageway - if you're quick, you can help us choose.

Games area and childrens play area

We now have an undercover games area for the whole family - games include pool, air hockey and foosball.

For the younger ones, the cubby house, slide and swing set are sure to entertain.

Visit the Donkey Sanctuary at Clarence Town

Just 10 minutes down the road you will find the local Donkey Sanctuary at Clarence Town. See the wonderful work that is being done to rescue these lovely animals. Appointments necessary - 4996 5596
