This place means a lot to us. It’s not just a peaceful spot in the Hunter Valley, it’s part of a much bigger story that began with a simple belief: every woman deserves a second chance and a safe place to start again. That belief now lives on through Carriageway, where hospitality becomes a pathway to healing.
Carriageway is part of Destiny Haven, our residential program supporting women rebuilding their lives after trauma, addiction, and hardship. The women at Destiny Haven help care for Carriageway and our sister property, Valley View Luxury Retreat. They lovingly prepare the rooms, keep the spaces beautiful, and make sure every guest feels genuinely welcomed.
You might notice some special touches during your stay.
Keep an eye out for some sweet (and complimentary) treats that are handmade by our team. At Destiny Haven, we’ve built several thriving social enterprises, crafting boutique Belgian chocolates, jams and relishes, candles and diffusers, hand-sewn products, and jewellery.
If you have time, we’d love you to pop up the road (just a 5-minute drive) to visit us. Our on-site shop and chocolate kitchen are open for a browse, and we’re always up for a coffee and a chat. It’s a lovely way to see firsthand the heart behind your stay, and maybe take home a few handmade goodies too!
